I fell away from thee, O my God, and in my youth I wandered too far from thee, my true support. And I became to myself a wasteland.
Augustine of Hippo, The Confessions of Saint Augustine, Book Two, Chapter 10 (Pages 30)
Hello Readers, hope all’s well. Today I present another Christian book review for The Christian Book Corner.
Today’s book is The Confessions of Saint Augustine by Augustine of Hippo. In this case the Dover Thrift Editions version. If you follow my blog you know lately I’ve been writing a lot of topics inspired by this excellent book.
If…
Jesus’ sacrifice on the Cross is His one momentous act that set us free from sin. This sacrifice, as horrible and painful as it was, is what gives us our Salvation. So shouldn’t we celebrate on Good Friday too?
Hello Readers, hope all’s well. Time for another post.
Today is Good Friday, the day when we honor the sacrifice of our LORD and Savior and Love on the Cross. Today is the day when we reflect on His agonizing and humiliating death, a punishment reserved for the most heinous criminals. Certainly not a punishment for someone who healed the sick…
We don’t want to relapse into older sins and go back down a level. We want to stay at our new, higher level. Then, the next time we do a season of fasting and prayer, we’ll start new growth from this higher level and hopefully reach another level even higher than that!
Hello Readers, hope all’s well. Time for another post.
Lent is almost over now-this is the last week, and Easter is on Sunday. If you fasted or sacrificed something or not, I pray you enjoyed high-quality Spiritual growth during Lent. Lent is a great opportunity for rapid Spiritual…
Every day, 13 Christians worldwide are killed because of their faith. Every day, 12 churches or Christian buildings are attacked. And every day, 12 Christians are unjustly arrested or imprisoned, and another 5 are abducted. So reports the 2021 World Watch List (WWL), the latest annual accounting from Open Doors of the top 50 countries where Christians are the most persecuted for following Jesus.
Hello Readers, hope all’s well. Today I present another End Times post.
We know, because Jesus warned us, that the Christian life comes with persecution (Matthew 10:22)…
But, after reading all that New Age deception, I knew this author had nothing to teach. All I would learn from these pages was dangerous error, inspired by the lies of Satan’s kingdom. That’s of no value to me, and not worth my precious reading time.
Hello Readers, hope all’s well. Today I present another End Times post.
If you’re a regular Reader you know I love to read. I’ve written many blog posts about books, and my previous post is about a science book I read recently. Though I focus on…
What a hellish condition. The addict desires something more, but gets less pleasure from it. And this leads to never being satisfied, always wanting more of this addiction that doesn’t even give pleasure anymore.
Hello Readers, hope all’s well. Time for another post.
Today’s post is something different. If you’re a longtime Reader of my blog, you know I love reading books. And that while I most often read Christian books, I make sure to insert some variety. The latest book I read, The Compass of Pleasure by David Linden, was something new for me. It was in a genre…
Hello Readers, hope all’s well.
I usually don’t post things like I’m posting now, but the Spirit moved me to do it today. I saw something online today that compelled me to share it. The story of Mr. Pervis Payne, a Black man in the U.S. facing execution on April 9. He has less than a month to live.
Killing and executions are not our right, not our authority, not our jurisdiction as Christians. God is the one who avenges and punishes, not us. Instead, Jesus says we are to Forgive and pray for others. …
I’ve decided to post it with commentary and rebukes as an educational tool. I want people to see this post, so they can see what demonic despair looks like. So they can see the kinds of doubts and blasphemies the demons lead us to believe. So they can see how the demons attack our Faith, our lifeline. If they can make us doubt our Faith, they can make us despair, which I did.
Hello Readers, hope all’s well. …
The LORD uses our failures for His purposes too. He used my failure this time to educate, strengthen, and correct. It wasn’t pleasant, but I can see it was a part of my Spiritual growth in the LORD. And growing is often painful.
Hello Readers, hope all’s well. Time for another End Times post.
When I say “hope all’s well,” I mean it. And I hope you’re doing better than I am right now, Readers. Today I’m recovering from a vicious demonic attack against my Faith. I got beaten down hard with…

light is near because of the darkness.Job 17:12 (CEB)
Hello Readers, hope all’s well. Time for another End Times post.
Today I have one more post on the Book of Job, though I believe this one will be the last. In the past few posts, I’ve written a few different things about suffering, and what we can learn of suffering from the Book of Job. Even if it weren’t the End Times now, human lives are guaranteed to have suffering. It’s a sad consequence of…
